Eagle Staff 12

Poem 80: Eagle Staff

By Vijay Simhadri

The eagle staff was of golden feathers,

It was the emblem of the bearers,

Designed like the feathers of an eagle,

It was admired in a place so blissful.

It shone yellow in the sunlight,

Standing out there very bright,

From the waters the staff did surface,

In the airy sky with dampness.
