Poem 13 - The Dark Cave. By Vijay Simhadri.
I abseiled down into the mysterious cave,
The bats were hovering around knowing not how to behave,
There was a green watery stream on the ground,
Travelling past my feet and all around.
I switched on my flashlight,
The surroundings were as dark as night,
The stalagtites spiralled downwards.
The stalagmites climbed upwards.
There was an atmosphere of dust,
I thought to myself really I must,
Delve deeper into the caves,
Through the floor's watery waves.
